Brow Lift for Greater Toronto Area, Vaughan, and Richmond Hill
A brow lift, commonly referred to as a forehead lift, can address flattened brow arches as well as lines and/or excess skin on the forehead. A brow lift repositions the brow to reduce these visible signs of aging. Dr. Madronich's years of training and experience with brow lifts allow him to ensure your procedure results in a natural looking, smoother brow, that doesn't look overcorrected.
Brow lift procedures are designed to remove or alter:
- Wrinkles on the forehead
- Vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows
- 'Drooping' eyebrows that sit low on the face
- The slant of eyebrows, whether flat or sloping down towards the middle of the face.
These prominent features can give individuals a stern or tired appearance and make them look older than they are.
Some patients find that they confuse brow lifts with blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery. When done appropriately alongside other procedures, a brow lift can be an integral part of a natural looking facial rejuvenation process. The best way to determine which procedure would best address your needs is to book a consultation with Dr. Madronich.
Brow lifts should only be performed by a qualified plastic surgeon—a medical specialist who has completed a minimum of five years of training in surgery following medical school. Plastic surgeons require a high level of surgical skill, excellent aesthetic judgment, extensive knowledge, and years of practice.
Finding a certified plastic surgeon that you feel is right for you is an important part of the brow lift process. As with any cosmetic surgery, it is important to research your options and know your surgeon's professional qualifications. Dr. Madronich believes that patients considering aesthetic surgery should have the opportunity to discuss their expectations and options in depth with their surgeon.

Brow lift surgery can be performed under sedation and local anesthesia or under general anesthesia. The procedure typically takes one to two hours. During your procedure, Dr. Madronich will make incisions as to minimize their visibility after healing. After making small incisions, Dr. Madronich will adjust the underlying muscles and tissue and remove excess skin. The overall effect is to reduce sagging skin and brows as well as the appearance of wrinkles, leaving a smoother forehead and beautifully arched brow.
Recovery
You should expect some swelling and bruising in the area for 7-10 days following your surgery. A head dressing will be applied to the area to protect your brow while it heals. Recovery time from a brow lift is approximately two weeks.
This procedure can be paired with blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, to maximize the impact of your cosmetic surgery, leaving you with a more fresh, youthful look. This option, along with any other questions you may have, can be discussed at your consultation with Dr. Madronich.
